I don’t do extremes. My psychology is not built to deal with extremes and neither is my physiology. I can’t eat a lot. I don’t drink a lot. You’ll never find me bungee jumping off of anything or trying to break any speed records. I don’t like summer and I can’t stand winter. There are about two to three months out of the year that are absolutely perfect for me and it’s usually early spring and early fall.
I am so thankful that we are entering fall. The sunrise and sunset times correlate with my schedule perfectly at this time of year. I’m outside with Matilda just as the sun is coming up and I’ve finished dinner and am preparing to retire to the bedroom as the sun sets. I love the nip that’s in the air this time of year because it lets me pull out my sweatshirts. Sweatshirts are my most favorite articles of clothing. I feel the most comfortable and at ease in a sweatshirt. My favorite foods come with this time of year. I always make wings to eat while watching football. Chili is also a great football food. Pot roast, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese….ah the comfort foods that come with the transition to fall.
Yes, I’m quite thankful for this time of year and I intend to enjoy every moment between now and the beginning of the cold temperatures of winter.
What is your favorite time of year and why?
