Jane and the Book Sale

I was really tired when I woke up this morning.  It was all Matilda’s fault.  I had plans to go with my friend, Jane, to my local library’s book sale.  By the time she called me, I was already back in bed and had to force myself to get up and go.

As much as I love books, I don’t read as much as I once did.  When I do pick up a book, it takes me forever to finish it.  I’ve always been somewhat of a slow reader.  Jane is a voracious reader.  Whenever we talk, she’s just finished another awesome book and listened to a few more on tape.  She makes me want to read more.

The library sale was great.  I got an armful of hardback biographies and a couple of interesting books of fiction for $3.12.  It doesn’t get much better than that.

Today, I am thankful for the love of books that my parents instilled in me.  I am also thankful for Jane for putting me in a room full of books today and making me want to read.

I’ll spend time reading blogs tomorrow.  Tonight, I’m going to curl up with this book I found today.  The title has already sucked me in.
